Santiago Vazquez comes to Japan!!
Santiago Vasquez, an Argentine musician who has been a hot topic in recent years through activities such as percussion groups such as el tempo and La Sanas, and has
presented new form of improvisation with sign system . While awareness is still low in Japan, improvisation using various forms of sign systems in the world already has a history of about 50
years, and classes are sometimes held at music universities in Europe. Among the many signature systems, Santiago's signature system, which emphasizes rhythm and groove, has been appreciated in
Europe and Japan in recent years, and has especially influenced the ensemble of percussion instruments. Santiago is also the central and amazing musician of the we-called "Argentina Onkyo-Ha" who
has presided over various groups from "Puente Celeste", which became a hot topic in the early 2000s to the current "PAN" . In this visit to Japan, in addition to a workshop , live tour with
Yasuhiro Yoshigaki, a long-time friend, will also be held.
The project of Vazquez and Yoshigaki, who previously released an album under the name “Anima Mundi“, will tour under the name “Arcana Mundi“ because there is a Cuban
progressive rock band of the same name.
In Tokyo, mainly the musicians who performed together during their visit to Santiago in 2006, 2018, and 2019.

In Osaka, workshops specializing in improvised rhythm ensembles using conduction, concerts with percussion ensembles in Kansai, workshops for all musicians on the

Santiago told
“I am now doing workshops in many different subjects that I have been developing.
One is Rhythm with Signs, of course.
That we can work with percussion, and or other instruments, and it could also be for voices.
But there are rhythm theories that I developed that I think they are very useful: Theory of Rhythmic Claves and Theory of Rhythm Constructive Forces.
Both are useful for musicians of all instruments, and composers, producers or directos.
Also it could be about displacements, polyrhythms, Balance, and other”
